a tale of two couples (basant)

this is ramesh da and his wife pratibha...the former known to me from the time i was perhaps a teenager. i know his entire family from siblings to parents and even the circle of his friends. i say about him he is my uncle of childhood, shisya of my thirties and now among the dearest of my friends. the sort of chap who even touches my feet with no malice but absolute love. one of those you can repose blind faith in- always willing to learn a new thing. came all the way from vikaspuri!!!(talking of devotion)But the more interesting thing was that 11 years ago they were married on the 11 of February (that too was basant panchami day then) and that was a monday and it was their 11 marriage anniversary this time and they spent it with me on a monday, basant panchami, 11th february...we felt blessed to share a part of their happiness.

this is professor and mrs. bharat gupt- another of those dear friends who are always supportive of you. fortunately for me they live in faridabad and the psychological satisfaction that brings is immense. i address mrs gupt as mausi because i find her motherly and affectionate- always willing to offer whatever support they can give. for our basant panchami program too they had referred the halwai to me, which turned out to be a very successful experience. prof gupt is an academic, musicologist and dramalogist- erudite, widely travelled, widely lecturing (globally in fact) and upon whose erudition i wanted all of us to benefit from and i requested him to tell us all about the significance of 'basant' (spring) he did and i felt the richer for it. thanks prof.gupt. oh btw! they are sitting along the side of the folding dining table that extends as a part of the kitchen counter. you can ofcourse see the happening kitchen with any number of people out there:)
